On Thursday, 9th February, a group of members travelled to Altamont Gardens to see the snowdrops – over 100 different varieties. It was a beautiful Spring day and the weather was ideal for the visit. We stopped off on the way and enjoyed tea/coffee and scones in the very welcoming Cafe de Mode in the village of Ballon.
Altamont was radient on the day and we enjoyed the beauty of the snowdrops, witch hazel, irises, daphne and the different varieties of helleborus. There were some beautiful tree specimens along the way.
We enjoyed a relaxing walk along the sculpted yew paths, around the lake and back to the walled garden. Thanks to those members who did the driving. It was a very enjoyable outing. Click into the photo gallery to see individual photos.
