Recent Activities

WALK ALONG THE NORE.

We met for coffee and scones in the Rivercourt Hotel and after some lively chat most of the group went on the walk. This was most enjoyable and very informative. We had decided on another walk next Monday to the Discovery Park in Castlecomer but I have been advised that it is very mucky and slippery following all the rain so we have postponed it until the weather improves. Other suggested walks are in the same condition. Please let me know of a walk that would be suitable underfoot.

WESTPORT TRIP.

We had a lovely trip to Westport with other branch members from 16th/17th until the 21stOctober. We stayed in the Westport Plaza Hotel which was a super choice. There was a friendly atmosphere, lovely staff, delicious food and fun activities. There were teachers from 23 counties present and it was most enjoyable. Hopefully this will become an annual event.

MY FAIR LADY.

Nine of us attended this last Thursday. It was a great production which we all enjoyed. Unfortunately 4 people had to cancel due to illness.

Upcoming Activities

COFFEE MORNING.

Next Tuesday, 8th November,  we will hold a coffee morning in the Clubhouse Hotel at 11,00 a.m. 

Afterwards, weather permitting, you could have a walk in the Castle Park, visit the BUTLER GALLERY or the MEDIEVAL MILE MUSEUM. 

Please let me know if you are coming to the Club House so that we have enough scones!

MASS FOR DECEASED MEMBERS OF THE I.N.T.O.

Next Wednesday. 9th November in the Friary at 5.40 p.m.

A.G.M. and CHRISTMAS LUNCH.

Our AGM and Christmas lunch will be held in the Rivercourt Hotel, on Tuesday, 6th December. AGM at 11.30 followed by lunch at 1.00 p.m. 

The cost of the lunch is €20 (subsidised by the branch)

Please let me know by 30th November if you are coming to lunch.  Also please invite teachers who retired in the past year but do give me their names. (I don’t have contact details due to GDPR).  

Afterwards we could adjourn to the bar for a bit of a sing along or some music.

Would you consider getting involved in our committee? We welcome new members to the committee as it keeps things fresh.
