I hope this newsletter finds you safe and well. As we head into the winter we are conscious that our activities have been in abeyance since March. We have been advised by our executive to defer any activities until it meets again in early November. We will keep you updated as we receive further news.
However, we will continue to communicate with you by email, on Facebook and through our website – www.kilkennyrta.org
Thanks to all those who submitted photos for our recent photography competition. They are currently being judged and we hope to announce the winners within the next week or so. Once the results are in we will also post the entries on our website.
Christmas Card Competition
Following on from the success of our recent “Greeting Card” initiative we are organising a Christmas Card Competition. We are inviting entries by 9th November. These are the requirements:
- Any medium can be used
- Entries should be A4 size
- Original work of RTA Kilkenny member only (no clipart etc)
The winning entry will be printed as a Christmas Card and sent to all the members. The closing date is Monday, 9th November. Entries can be given to me in the Clubhouse (ballroom) on that day any time from 2.00-4.00pm.
Also, on that day we will have packets of our “Greeting Cards” for sale. A packet of 8 and envelopes for €10. We are donating the profits to St. Vincent de Paul for the Christmas period.
Down Memory Lane
We would like to feature old photos of RTA activities on our website – a sort of Down Memory Lane. If you have old photos of RTA activities we would be delighted to include them in this section. You can email the photos to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. See the recent memory by Denis posted on the website.
You don’t need to include names of individuals in the photos but add a line to put the photo in context.
Over the last 6 months we have posted many videos on our website thanks to Pauline and Denis. Many members have commented very favourably on them. Others have said they haven’t received notice of the videos.
When any information is posted on the website any member who has SUBSCRIBED to the website will automatically receive an email directing them to the post. THIS IS DONE AUTOMATICALLY BY THE WEBSITE and has nothing to do with our mailing list. THE TWO ARE SEPARATE.
If you wish to receive automatic notification of posts as they appear on the website you will need to subscribe to the website. It’s a very simple process. Go to our website www.kilkennyrta.org
At the bottom of the opening page you will see the following:
Where it says —–Enter your email address
Type in your email address here. Then click FOLLOW. You will be guided through the process. Once you have this done you will probably receive a follow-up email asking you to confirm that you want to FOLLOW the website. Once this is done you should receive automatic notification to your email when new posts are put on the website.
If you did this before and are not receiving automatic notifications it could be that you used an eircom email address that is no longer valid.
Again we send our best wishes to you and your family. If you need someone to chat to or if you have any suggestions you can contact me on 0876742884.
