Active Retirement

Each week in the Kilkenny People, Seamus Nugent writes an article on fitness. This week he brings to our attention a booklet called ‘Get Active Now’ which has just been published. The booklet contains guidelines for physical activity for the over 50’s in Kilkenny. The booklet will be distributed through active retirement groups, pharmacies and GP’s surgeries.

Seamus’s article highlights some of the activities that are open to people in Kilkenny. Some are free and others may have a charge. The activities vary from walking, circuits, pilates, indoor cycling, modified games for the over 50’s. The venues are spread around the county in the Fr. Mc Grath Centre, the Watershed, Danesfort Community Centre, Stoneyford Community Hall, Johnswell Hall and Castlecomer Community Hall.

See page 16 of this week’s Kilkenny People for full details.

There’s no excuse! Get out there and get ACTIVE!
