On Monday, 29th April, we had a very interesting, personal talk on the sculptor, Oisín Kelly, by his daughter Siobhán Tulloch who is a member of RTAI KILKENNY.
It was lovely to hear about his early life and every day happenings with his family. Siobhán said it was a lucky day for them when he became involved with the Kilkenny Design Workshops. He got lots of commissions among them “The Children of Lir” in the Garden of Remembrance . The crucifix over the altar in St . Fiacres church is also one of his works. Siobhán brought along several of his pieces to the talk which you can see in these photos.
Aren’t we so lucky to have been able to hear a first hand personal account of this famous man. Thanks Siobhán.

A very special experience. Thank you Siobhán for allowing us to share in your family story. I found it very moving as well as informative. A lovely blend of history and humour. Máirín Bergin
